BUDGETS

BUDGETS

Whenever you plan a fundraising event, one of the first responsibilities of the chairperson, or his or her designate, is to prepare a budget. A budget serves two purposes: it provides an estimate of the total cost of the event and, perhaps more important, it forces you to think sequentially, step by step, through the entire event.

Once your budget is completed, you will be in a far better position either to approach prospective sponsors or to prepare to fund the event in some other manner. And your group will then be in a better position to either approve or rework the budget estimates.
