MEDIA INVOLVEMENT
When an event depends on or revolves around promotion and advertising, try to get a media resource to become a sponsor.
Most radio and TV stations and newspapers are involved in community events, and yours could easily be one of them.
Again, like any approach to a prospective sponsor, you must be able to show how it is in their best interest, as a community-minded corporate citizen, to associate themselves with your group.
The key to persuading a media entity to provide sponsorship is community identification with either your specific group or cause. If there is community support for what you are trying to achieve, the media in your community, especially the electronic media, will be very sensitive to this point. They, in this situation, can be easily persuaded to participate.
